Mother and child specialized care
Mother and child specialized third-level care services are supplied in the West Georgia Medical Center in Kutaisi.
The center provides 24-hour services in the following spheres:
- interdisciplinary qualified medical services for pregnant and parturient women both in physiological and complicated cases
- obstetric and neonatal care in the case of physiological as well as high-risk pregnancy and parturition, including referrals from other clinics
- intensive care and management of critical conditions by skilled therapists and surgeons who use comprehensive laboratory and diagnostic facilities
- full neonatal intensive care service in a unit with 20 beds that is equipped in compliance with European standards
Since 2012, more than 6,000 babies have been born in the hospital, more than 4,000 high-risk pregnant women have been treated and more than 2,500 infants have undergone successful treatment in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
