Sopo Beridze

Sopio Beridze joined the Evex team as Clinical Director in September 2024.

Sopio holds a Doctor of Medicine degree in Internal Medicine. She has 20 years of clinical, scientific, and academic experience as a physician and gastroenterologist-hepatologist, as well as a lecturer in internal medicine. She is a professor at two higher educational institutions, an author and head of English-language medical education programs, and a member of the sectoral council of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.

At various times, Sopio has held positions including Head of the Therapeutic Department and Quality Director at Batumi Referral Hospital, as well as Maritime Medicine Expert at the Maritime Transport Agency of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. In 2022, she became the founding Rector of Avicenna – Batumi Medical University.

Sopio Beridze received her undergraduate medical education at Tbilisi State Medical University. She has also completed postgraduate training and professional development courses at leading clinics and educational institutions in Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Spain. She is the author of more than 20 scientific publications and has coordinated up to 10 international projects.
