News – Densitometry at Evex Batumi Clinic
Starting today, you can undergo densitometry at Evex Batumi Clinic (20 Selim Khimshiashvili St.).
What is densitometry?
Densitometry is a diagnostic procedure used to measure bone mineral density. It is the gold standard for diagnosing osteoporosis. The examination allows us to detect decreased bone density before clinical symptoms appear or a fracture occurs.
What type of funding is available at Evex Batumi Clinic and who can benefit from it?
Instead of paying the standard fee for densitometry, patients can use a 150 GEL voucher, which fully covers the cost of the examination.
In addition to standard paid services, Evex Batumi offers voucher-based services, meaning the examination can be fully funded.
This service is available to citizens of Georgia (women aged 50+ and men aged 60+) who are registered in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and who, based on risk factors, are referred for a densitometry examination by a physician of various specialties (rheumatologist, endocrinologist, oncologist, family physician, etc.) through a referral/Form 100, and who simultaneously meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Long-term use of steroid hormones (3 months or more)
- Thyroid diseases (nodular goiter, hypothyroidism)
- Chronic kidney and liver diseases
- Post-chemotherapy, hormone therapy, or radiation therapy period
- Previous fracture
- Decrease in height
- Underweight
The service is provided through a medical voucher issued by the LEPL Public Health Center of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
The reimbursable amount of the service is 150 GEL.
In cases of already diagnosed osteoporosis, the examination will not be funded.
